In addition, Toyota China plans to import a limited number of 50 second-generation MIRAI units at the end of this year and sell them in China through the GAC Toyota channel.

Toyota China said that in order to help China achieve the goal of carbon neutrality and further promote the development of hydrogen energy society in China, Toyota China has actively expanded the application scene of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and continued to explore new ways for the development and application of hydrogen energy.

According to reports, Toyota launched the world's first mass-produced HEV Prius in 1997, and then continued to promote the research and development and popularization of plug-in plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV), hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEV) and pure electric vehicles (BEV).

CTOnews.com learned that Toyota sold the first MIRAI globally in 2014, which Toyota said was the world's first batch of mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. In 2020, the second-generation MIRAI went on sale. So far, MIRAI has sold more than 20000 vehicles, with a cumulative driving distance of 533 million km.
