Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, Sept. 26 (Reuters)-Apple said today that iPhone makers are "very happy to produce iPhone 14 in India."
In an effort to diversify its supply chain and avoid over-reliance on China, it has been reported that Apple plans to transfer 1/4 of its iPhone production to India by 2025. JPMorgan analysts said last week that they believed Apple would move about 5 per cent of iPhone 14 production to India by the end of 2022.
CTOnews.com learned that Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi said through Twitter earlier this month that the mass production progress of iPhone 14 in India this year is still about six weeks behind China, and has generally lagged behind by a quarter or more in the past.
Apple first began producing iPhone, or iPhone SE, in India in 2017. In April, Apple announced that it had started producing iPhone 13 smartphones in India. Previously, some of the iPhone was assembled by Foxconn's local plant, while the other part was assembled by Wituang's factory.
In addition, Bloomberg revealed earlier this month that India's leading Tata Group is in talks with Taiwan-based supplier Weitong to set up a joint venture to assemble Apple's iPhone phones in India.
