Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com Sept. 26, last month, Samsung officially released its new retail flagship SSD--990 PRO, along with a version with a RGB heat sink. The new product uses PCIe 4.0x4 protocol, but upgrades to NVMe 2.0, with new master and new TLC flash memory particles, starting at 1T and up to 4T.

According to reports, Samsung's 990 PRO sequential read and write speeds are 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s respectively, and random read and write speeds are 1400K and 1550K IOPS respectively, representing a 55% improvement in random read and write performance compared with the 980 PRO.

CTOnews.com has reported that the SSD went on sale on overseas Amazon half a month ago and said it would ship in mid-October, with the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB priced at 324.9 euros (about 2274.3 yuan).

Now Samsung has begun to warm up for the new product and has also appeared on Samsung's website. Samsung's official website currently has 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 solid state drives in 1TB and 2TB versions and 990 PRO With Heatsink (heatsink version) PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 solid state drives, but the launch date is not disclosed and only the sales channels of offline stores are given.

This hard drive uses an intelligent heat dissipation solution. Nickel plating controller and thermal control algorithm can dynamically manage heat to ensure stable performance. The radiator tag controls the heat of the NAND chip and maintains the appropriate operating temperature through "dynamic heat dissipation protection" (Dynamic Thermal Guard) technology.

According to reports, Samsung's 990 Pro has improved energy efficiency, consumes less power than the previous generation, and its performance per watt is 50% higher than that of the 980 PRO.
