Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, September 26 (Xinhua)-- according to a report released by market research firm Strategy Analytics, global smartphone wholesale revenue will grow by 2% year-on-year in 2022, mainly driven by strong growth in smartphone wholesale ASP (10% year-on-year growth), offsetting a 7% drop in shipments.

The increase in ASP (average selling price) is due to high-end 5G models from Apple, Samsung and other brands.

In addition, Strategy Analytics predicts that from 2024 to 2027, South Korea and Japan will have the highest smartphone ASP, while Africa and parts of the Asia-Pacific region will have the lowest ASP.

CTOnews.com learned that, according to Counterpoint Research's forecast, Apple released the iPhone 14 series of phones earlier this month, with strong demand, and the ASP (average selling price) is expected to hit a record high of $892 in the September quarter and climb again to $944 in the December quarter. In the fourth quarter of last year, iPhone's ASP reached $873.

The rise in ASP was mainly due to the popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. Evercore ISI surveyed about 4000 consumers and found that about 56 per cent of those interested in buying iPhone were prepared to choose Pro, up from 41 per cent last year. Evercore ISI expects Apple's iPhone's ASP to rise to $940 next year, 10% higher than in the iPhone 13 cycle.
