The email shows that for car owners who have finished picking up their cars from September 16 to September 30, if they choose to buy insurance in Tesla's store, they can enjoy an insurance subsidy of 8000 yuan, which can be directly used to reduce car prices. This behavior has also been interpreted by the market as Tesla's "price reduction of 8000 yuan in disguise."

Securities Times visited Tesla Shanghai store, Tesla store sales staff confirmed the authenticity of the e-mail.

"We don't usually do this kind of subsidy activity. it's a temporary activity for sprint delivery." Sales staff told reporters that the 30th pick-up car can enjoy a subsidy of 8000 yuan, will be in the final delivery of the car price reduction.

CTOnews.com has reported that in Tesla's second-quarter earnings conference call this year, Musk responded to Tesla's price question by saying, "I think inflation will fall before the end of the year. I hope we can lower car prices slightly at that time." Some industry insiders predict that Tesla China will usher in a long-lost price reduction in October or so.

According to the official website, Tesla Model 3 rear wheel drive version currently sells for 279900 yuan, high-performance version for 367900 yuan, Model Y rear wheel drive version for 316900 yuan, long-lasting version for 394900 yuan, and high-performance version for 417900 yuan.

With the transformation and upgrading of the production line of Tesla's Shanghai factory in July, the annual production capacity of the Shanghai plant has also reached 750000 vehicles, and the pick-up cycle of Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y models in the Chinese market has been greatly shortened. Currently, the Model Y rear wheel drive version is the fastest, with a delivery cycle of only 1-4 weeks, while Model 3 and other versions of Model Y have a delivery cycle of 6-10 weeks or more.
