Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Coje_He for lead delivery! CTOnews.com Following Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 support for Arm64, Visual Studio extensions now support Arm64 as well.

Add Arm64 support for new or existing extensions:

1. In the extension solution, update the VSSDK build kit to the latest version through NuGet package manager.

In the VSIX manifest, add the ProductArchitecture tag specifying arm64 and ensure that the Prerequisites tag contains VS 2022.

Under Properties > Build, set the build target to AnyCPU or Arm64.

► VSIX list with Arm64 installation target

Additionally, extension developers can now publish Arm64 extensions as well as extended amd64 (64 bit) versions on a single Marketplace entry.

CTOnews.com learned that in June this year, Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 supported Arm64 for the first time, and developers can develop Arm64 applications natively on ARM devices.

Visual Studio 2022 also supports Apple Silicon (Arm64) processors, opening large solutions and other operations 50% faster than Visual Studio 2019 for Mac.
