The latest news suggests that the all-electric new car may be unveiled some time after 2025 and by the end of 2030, while there is also news that Skoda has started development work on the new car.

Autocar reports that the development of the all-new Skoda Octavia pure electric version is already underway, but it will not arrive until after the debut of Fabia, Karoq and Kodiaq electric cars in 2026.

Such a long time means that Skoda may use the SSP pure electric platform that has not yet been released, which is expected to gradually replace the currently widely used MEB platform from the second half of this century, eventually becoming the pillar of the entire Volkswagen Group and bringing better intelligent performance to users.

There are reports that the regular FWD model will have a dual-front motor design, while the AWD and vRS models will have a four-motor design, and it is likely to carry a battery that Skoda will release in 2024 or 2025, with at least 89 kilowatt hours of capacity, expected to provide a range of more than 370 miles (595 kilometers), and support a fast charge of 200 kilowatts.

In terms of styling, the all-electric version will adopt Skoda's new "modern solid" design language, similar to the just-released Vision 7S concept car, and will retain the body style of the sedan and Combi, although there should be some minor changes.

Skoda recently confirmed that the redesigned Octavia will debut in 2024, and it is expected that the all-electric version will begin testing after that.
