CTOnews.com Sept. 24, according to 91mobiles, India will officially launch 5G service on October 1. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the launch of a 5G network in India at the India Mobile Congress.

In July, India opened a 5G spectrum auction. The auction will include 20-year 72097.85MHz spectrum, including 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands.

CTOnews.com learned that Indian Telecommunications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in an interview that India should be able to launch a 5G network in first-tier cities in October and expand to other regions next year.
