Win 10 is one of the systems that can keep pace with Win 7 in terms of user volume and evaluation after Win 7. Although Microsoft released Win 11 after that, it adopted a design that was completely inconsistent with users' preferences and habits, so that most users refused to upgrade to Win 11.

According to data released by AdDuplex, as of June this year, Win 10 still has a global market share of 73.94%, far higher than the Win 11 system, which has just exceeded 20%, and is a proper desktop operating system lever!

Although according to the changes in the data, we can see that the market share of Win 11 has increased slightly over time, but it is certain that Win 10 will definitely occupy the market share position in the next few years.

The original Microsoft Win10 system image is often three or four gigabytes in size. After installing the system, without any software installed, only the system files will occupy more than 10 gigabytes of hard disk space on the C disk.

The size of a system is largely related to its pre-installed software and components. As far as Win10 is concerned, its huge application library is one of the culprits that lead to the bloated system.

These days, a stripped-down version of Win10 called tiny10 has become a complete hit abroad. It is reported that an author named NTDEV is based on Microsoft's official original Win10 21H2.

Tiny10 has taken an extremely streamlined approach, removing a large number of system accessories, leaving only the most core functions. According to the author's screenshot, there are only 2G tiny10 image files, and only 4.3G is occupied by C disk after installation.

I also downloaded this system at the first time, and the image file is packaged in ISO form, the size is 2.5G, and can be installed on the computer through a variety of common system installation methods.

As I expected, tiny10 is so compact that there is only English language left, so you can choose the default option in the installation steps. It may be the reason why the system is really streamlined, which takes less time to install.

After the tiny10 installation is complete, the desktop looks basically the same as the original system, leaving only one Recycle Bin icon.

In order to make it easier to test tiny10, we first need to switch the system language to simplified Chinese, although the Chinese package included in the system image is simplified, fortunately, Windows supports downloading the language pack online.

Enter Settings-Time&Language-Language in turn.

Then click "Add a language" on the right to add simplified Chinese to the system.

However, after testing, I found that the system will report an error in the process of downloading the language pack, and the language pack cannot be downloaded normally.

In fact, this is because the Windows Update-related services are disabled, and the solution is to go to the service and find the Windows update service and turn it on.

Restart the system once, download the language pack again and there will be no error. You may need to restart many times during the operation. You must be patient!

The installation and debugging of the system are completed, so let's take a closer look at this system.

First of all, as far as the system occupation is concerned, I don't know if it is the reason for my system installation or what happened. The system did not occupy only the 4G size of the C disk as the author said, but doubled it to as much as 8G.

The system version is Windows 10 LTSC Enterprise Edition, version number 21H2.

Moving on to the system components, all applications, including the App Store, and Defender, which we often disable after installing the system, have been removed, but the Edge browser has been retained.

The rest of the system core functions, including powershell, CMD, disk management and so on, can be used normally, and no problems have been found.

The system runs large software such as PS effortlessly, with high fluency and good stability.

In the process of adding icons to the tiny10 desktop, I was careful to find a strange problem that the system could not properly pop up secondary windows including desktop icon settings, right-click file properties, and so on.

However, if the system is switched back to English, these basic operations are completely normal, and the problem lies in the Chinese system.

Summary although tiny10 in terms of fluency and volume, compared with the original system occupies many advantages, lower configuration requirements, making this system more suitable for the old PC to play its role. However, because many components have been streamlined and optimized too much, there may be a variety of potential problems found and undiscovered in the system, so you can play casually. If you are serious, it is recommended to honestly use the official original system.
