According to the different cathode materials, the power battery can be divided into two technical routes: lithium iron phosphate and ternary. Last year, the domestic lithium iron phosphate battery had a market share of more than 50% for the whole year, and achieved a counterattack when it lagged behind the ternary battery in a row from 2018 to 2020. In a report released earlier this year, Goldman Sachs raised its global market share forecast for lithium iron phosphate batteries. It predicts that lithium iron phosphate batteries will have a global share of 38% by 2030, up 13 percentage points from previous forecasts. According to the statistics of the above report, lithium iron phosphate batteries accounted for 28% of the global market last year, while ternary batteries accounted for the rest of the market.
Wang Chuanfu also said that it is necessary to adhere to the parallel development of pure electricity and hybrid technology. With regard to the global layout of new energy vehicles, BYD responded that its new energy vehicles operate in more than 70 countries and regions and more than 400 cities on six continents.
CTOnews.com learned that BYD produced 175400 new energy vehicles and sold 174900 new energy vehicles in August. Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, also revealed in a conference call at the end of August that BYD had 700000 orders on hand and a delivery period of 4-5 months for new cars.
