According to CCTV news, with the opening of the Beidou-3 global system, a total of 45 Beidou satellites are providing services in orbit. China's space and ground infrastructure have relatively perfect service capabilities, and the application system of Beidou industry has been basically formed.

Data show that in 2021, the overall output value of China's satellite navigation and location service industry, with Beidou application as the core, reached 469 billion yuan, an increase of about 16.9 percent over the same period last year. In terms of transportation, by the end of 2021, more than 7.8 million road operating vehicles and more than 40,000 postal express trunk vehicles have applied the Beidou system.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the first half of 2022, 128 mobile phones of the newly built network supported Beidou, shipping a total of 132 million units, accounting for 98.5% of the total.

CTOnews.com learned that the Beidou satellite system is the third mature global satellite navigation system independently developed by China after GPS of the United States and GLONASS of Russia. On July 31, 2020, the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was officially launched. The global positioning accuracy of Beidou 3 is better than 10 meters, the speed measurement accuracy is better than 0.2 meters per second, the timing accuracy is better than 20 nanoseconds, and the service availability is better than 99 percent.

At present, the four major satellite navigation system suppliers announced by the International Committee on Global Navigation Systems include the Global Positioning system (GPS) of the United States, the Gronas Satellite Navigation system (GLONASS) of Russia, the Galileo Satellite Navigation system (GALILEO) of the European Union and the Beidou Satellite Navigation system (BDS) of China.
