CTOnews.com, September 22 (Xinhua) Samsung is launching a new "Solve for Tomorrow contest" for American students. The competition challenges include students in grades 6-12 to transform local communities by using innovative, sustainable solutions from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

This is the 13th annual competition of its kind, and this year Samsung plans to provide $2 million in supplies and technology (estimated retail value) for classrooms in each state. Public school teachers across the United States can apply to join the program between now and November 2, 2022, and once the November deadline is reached, the program will be carried out in several stages.

The three hundred state finalists will receive a prize of 2500 US dollars. The 50 state winners will receive Samsung video kits for video development and $12000 in classroom supplies and technology. Only one of the 50 state-winning schools will receive an additional $50000 for winning the Sustainable Innovation Award.

In the next stage, 10 national finalists will participate in the competition in front of the jury. Seven national finalists will receive 50000 US dollars worth of technology and supplies, while the remaining three finalists will receive national awards, including 100000 US dollars in classroom technology and supplies.

One of the top ten schools will be selected as the winner through an online public vote. The winner selected by the community will receive a $10000 Samsung technology award. Finally, Samsung will select an employee to choose the winner to get $10000 worth of goods.

So far, Samsung has provided $20 million worth of classroom materials and technology to more than 3500 public schools in the United States since the first Solve for Tomorrow competition was held in 2010, CTOnews.com learned.
