Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, September 22, last month, it was reported that some Windows customers were experiencing problems due to daylight saving time (DST) error Bug. The main reason for the impact on Chilean users is the announcement by the Chilean government that the clock in the region will be advanced by one hour from September 4 instead of September 10, as well as other time zone updates.

This leads to problems related to incorrect times in Outlook, calendars, third-party applications, logs, Kerberos authentication, and so on. In fact, Microsoft points out that even users outside Chile may be affected if they connect to the country's servers. At the time, Microsoft released some temporary solutions, and now the official fix has been launched.

CTOnews.com has been informed that the patch is currently available as a cumulative preview update in the form of KB5017380. This update was initially available only to internal testers, but is now also available as an optional update to non-internal testers.

It is important to note that since this is an optional update provided as a preview, it is not automatically pushed. Users must manually check the updated Explorer experience in Windows Update.

Microsoft said that this update will fix DST problems with the following Windows SKU:

Windows 10 version 1809

Windows version 10 20H2

Windows version 10 21H1

Windows version 10 21H2

Windows 10 version 22 "H2"

Windows 11 2022

Windows 11

Users who want to wait for the update to be universally available will have to wait until next month's Tuesday patch, which is the cumulative update on October 11th.
