CTOnews.com, Sept. 22 (Reuters)-Toyota Motor Corp. said on Thursday that it plans to produce about 800000 vehicles worldwide in October due to semiconductor shortages, about 100000 less than its average monthly production plan.

CTOnews.com learned that the world's largest carmaker said last month that it aimed to produce about 900000 cars a month between September and November. Toyota now expects to produce an average of about 850000 cars a month from October to December.

Still, Toyota kept its global production target of 9.7 million vehicles between the current fiscal year and March 2023 unchanged. According to its October production plan, Toyota will suspend production at 10 production lines at seven domestic plants for up to 12 days.

However, according to research data from Hainer International Group, the average global chip delivery cycle (the time from order to delivery) was 26.8 weeks in August, one day shorter than the average delivery cycle in July and narrowing for the third month in a row.
