According to Liu Dechun, director of the Environmental Resources Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, in 2021, high-tech manufacturing accounted for 15.1% of the added value of industries above scale, an increase of 5.7% over 2012; the added value of the "three new" industries reached 17.25% of GDP; and the new energy industry was the world leader, providing more than 70% of photovoltaic modules for the global market. The proportion of green buildings in the new construction area of cities and towns in that year increased to 84%. In the first eight months of 2022, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 397 and 3.86 million respectively, and the number of new energy vehicles reached 10.99 million, accounting for about half of the world.

Over the past decade, the state has deeply promoted the energy revolution, based on the basic national conditions based on coal, strengthened the clean and efficient use of coal, actively developed non-fossil energy, and continuously deepened the reform of the electric power system.

In 2021, the proportion of clean energy consumption in China will reach 25. 5%. 5 percent, an increase of 11 percentage points over 2012; the share of coal consumption dropped to 56 percent, down 12.5 percent from 2012; the installed scale of wind power generation increased by about 12 times over 2012, and new energy generation exceeded 1 trillion kilowatt hours for the first time. Over the past decade, the state has made great efforts to promote energy conservation, emission reduction and intensive recycling of resources, which has greatly improved the efficiency of energy resources utilization in China. Compared with 2012, China's energy consumption per unit of GDP decreased by 26. 5% in 2021. 4%, carbon dioxide emissions per unit GDP decreased by 34.4%, water consumption per unit GDP decreased by 45%, and the output rate of major resources increased by about 58%.
