In addition, Google is making further improvements to the virtual A / B in Android 13. For example, XOR compression further reduces snapshot size by 25-40%, while switching to dm-user for user space merging can significantly reduce compression merge time. Google is also trying to deploy Linux's io_uring feature, which reduces snapshot merge time by about 40 per cent, according to benchmarks.
