According to reports, DLSS 3, driven by the brand new fourth generation Tensor Core and GeForce RTX 40 series GPU optical flow accelerator, is the latest version of Nvidia deep learning supersampling technology and has a groundbreaking optical multi-frame generation function.

Recently, the engineer of Nvidia has answered whether the old graphics card of the RTX 20max 30 series supports DLSS 3, and the result is that the theory can support it, but only a little bit.

Bryan Catanzaro, vice president of applied deep learning research at Nvidia, said that DLSS 3 relies on the optical flow accelerator, which is significantly better than Ampere in Ada, so the current version is only applicable to the RTX 40 series. In theory, through additional research and engineering, they can make the technology work on the RTX 20gam30 series graphics card, but it may not work well.

As a result, Nvidia's new DLSS technology currently abandons the old graphics card, similar to the situation in previous versions.
