CTOnews.com European and global international versions of Xiaomi Tablet 5 have been queued for an update to Android 12--which will start with a small number of users and will gradually expand. Users can also check manually and get updates.

Xiaomi Tablet 5 launched last year, pre-installed with Android 11 and MIUI 12.5. The new update will upgrade it to Android 12 and MIUI 13.1, and also include the latest September security patches. The international version number is 13.1.1.0.SKXMIXM, while the European version number is 13.1.2.0.SKXEUXM. The Indian version of Xiaomi Tablet 5 was launched this year, pre-installed with MIUI 13 system.

The update log is fairly concise, it only records new Android versions and security patches. MIUI 13 introduces new widgets, improves security and smart home integration, beautifies design and more. A major update to MIUI 13 is the introduction of the "MIUI Pad" branch, designed specifically for large screens.

CTOnews.com learned that in addition to Xiaomi Tablet 5 series, starting from Q1 quarter of 2022, more Xiaomi International devices will be upgraded to MIUI 13 system.
