The announcement shows that the website of BYD will be changed from www.byd.com to www.bydglobal.com, adding the word "global" to represent BYD's determination to enter the global market.

Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, said at the 2021 annual shareholders' meeting that the company will step up its efforts to expand overseas markets in the future. At present, the company is under great pressure to open up overseas markets, but it still has some scarce resources to promote the global electric car market.

CTOnews.com learned that BYD officially announced its entry into the Japanese passenger car market on July 21 and unveiled three models, namely, the yuan PLUS, dolphin and seal, and announced its entry into the German and Swedish markets in early August, with the first cars expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter. BYD also announced that it would enter the Danish market this year and that its first store would open in Copenhagen in the fourth quarter of this year. There is also the latest news that BYD will enter the UK later this year, local car dealer Pendragon has been discussing the issue of cooperation with BYD, and the discussion is at an advanced stage. Pendragon is expected to become a partner of BYD in the UK.

BYD has stopped selling fuel vehicles since March, and its cumulative sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 640000, up 314.9 percent from a year earlier. BYD's sales continued to rise in the third quarter, exceeding 160000 in July and 170000 in August. As of August, BYD had sold 978795 vehicles in 2022, just one step away from millions of sales. Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, said on an earnings call in the first half of 2022 that sales of new energy vehicles in China next year (2023) are expected to be between 9 million and 10 million, while BYD's whole vehicle plan is to start with 4 million.
