CTOnews.com September 21 news, today, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics from January to August.

According to the National Energy Administration, as of the end of August, the country's installed power generation capacity was about 2.47 billion kilowatts, an increase of 8.0 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the installed capacity of wind power is about 340 million kilowatts, an increase of 16.6 percent over the same period last year, and the installed capacity of solar power is about 350 million kilowatts, an increase of 27.2 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that from January to August, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment nationwide was 2499 hours, 67 hours less than the same period last year. Of these, thermal power was 2930 hours, 64 hours less than the same period last year; nuclear power 4995 hours, 224 hours less than the same period last year; and wind power 1460 hours, 40 hours less than the same period last year.

From January to August, the country's major power generation enterprises completed an investment of 320.9 billion yuan in power supply projects, an increase of 18.7 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, solar power generation totaled 102.5 billion yuan, an increase of 323.8% over the same period last year. The investment in the power grid project was 266.7 billion yuan, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year.
