CTOnews.com Sept. 21 news, a few weeks ago, Google Chrome 105and Microsoft Edge 105browser released, now, Mozilla Firefox ushered in 105official version. Last month, Firefox 104 introduced support for subtitles in Disney+ pictures and improvements to screenshot behavior. Firefox 105 seems to focus more on performance and accessibility enhancements.

Here are the new features in Firefox 105:

Added the option to print the current page only from the print preview dialog box.

Partition service workers in a third-party context is now supported. Users can register service worker with a third-party iframe, which will be partitioned under the top-level domain.

Slide navigation on the Windows (two fingers on the touchpad slide left or right to perform history backward or forward) is now enabled.

Conforms to the support User Timing L3 specification, which adds additional optional parameters to the performance.mark and performance.measure methods to provide custom start time, end time, duration, and additional details.

Search for a single item in a large list is twice as fast. This performance enhancement replaces array.includes and array.indexOf with optimized SIMD versions.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of fixes, Mozilla significantly improved the performance of the Windows version by changing the way Firefox handled low-memory situations. Linux customers will experience similar benefits because Firefox is now unlikely to run out of memory. At the same time, the macOS touchpad scrolling is made more accessible by "reducing unexpected diagonal scrolling opposite to the expected scroll axis".

In terms of security fixes, Firefox 105 patched four high-risk, two medium-risk and two low-risk security vulnerabilities.

The Firefox Enterprise release notes do not seem to have been released yet, but developers can find details of the Web API changes here.

Users can find the download link for Firefox version 105 here. To update Firefox, simply open the Hamburg menu and navigate to help > about Firefox. It should automatically start looking for and downloading updates on Windows and macOS. If you are using Linux, you must wait for updates to be provided through the update manager.
