According to wccftech's introduction to DigiTimes today, Wi-Fi 7 technology will be launched in 2024, and the current Wi-Fi 6e is just a transitional technology. The first device to support Wi-Fi 7 will be the Samsung Galaxy S24 series phone, which will have a 300MHz channel and support 4K quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technology, up to 2.4 times faster than the Wi-Fi 6 with the same number of antennas.

Earlier, IC closed test supply chain operators said frankly that international WiFi SoC manufacturers are actively brewing Wi-Fi 7 products, and it is expected that there may be high-end mobile phones supporting Wi-Fi 7 standards in the second half of 2024.

On April 13 this year, Broadcom released its first WiFi 7 SoC, model BCM4916, which uses a quad-core ARMv8 processor and provides up to 24 DMIPS of performance with 1 MB L2 cache and 64 kB L1 cache.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Intel teamed up with Broadcom to achieve "the world's first cross-vendor Wi-Fi 7 demonstration" on September 9, which outpaced 5Gbps. Intel says Wi-Fi 7 can bring higher speed, lower latency, higher reliability, and greater capacity, including the use of 320MHz channel bandwidth in unauthorized 6GHz spectrum (speed doubles), 4K QAM quadrature amplitude modulation (20% speed increase), multilink operation MLO (improved throughput, link robustness, roaming, interference mitigation and reduced latency) And improve channel utilization through multi-resource unit (MRU) and drilling.

At present, the Wi-Fi 7 standard has not yet been finalized, and its product scheme is only a semi-finished product scheme based on the functions defined in the amendment to the IEEE P802.11be draft. Intel is said to plan to launch Wi-Fi 7 certified products in accordance with the Wi-Fi Alliance certification schedule (2023-2024 time frame).
