CTOnews.com, September 21, according to CCTV, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that United Airlines withdrew its 25 Boeing 777200s from its route this week because United was unable to carry out the necessary inspection of the wing leading edge panel of the aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the airline disclosed the problem to the agency after an internal audit and put forward a plan to complete the inspection. United said on Tuesday that it canceled about 18 flights on Monday night and Tuesday morning for inspection, but did not expect to cancel more flights because of the problem.

United said on Tuesday: we have completed the inspection of 10 of these aircraft and are working with the FAA to bring the other aircraft back to service during the inspection process over the next two weeks. The FAA said it was reviewing United's inspection plan and "investigating situations that led to missed inspections."

In May, the FAA approved the re-commissioning of 52 United Boeing 777s with PW 4000 engines.

CTOnews.com learned that the 777-200is the first model in the family, launched in 1990 and belongs to the Type A market, with four boarding gates on each side, powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000, GE GE90 or Rolls-Royce Trent 800s, with a thrust of more than 74000 pounds, a maximum takeoff weight of 545000 pounds and a maximum range of 9695 kilometers.

In February 2021, a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 bound for Honolulu suffered an engine failure, the right engine stalled shortly after take-off, the plane's engine exploded and burned violently, and large parts fell from the plane. Debris spilled on nearby cities, but fortunately caused no casualties, then made an emergency landing in Denver and returned to the airport safely.

Foreign media said that the incident was by no means accidental. A similar incident occurred on a Boeing plane in the Netherlands on February 20, 2021, local time.
