CTOnews.com Sept. 21, Microsoft today pushed major 22H2 updates to Windows 11 users. In addition, Microsoft talked about the pace of Windows 11 updates.

Microsoft says the new Windows 11 features will be available in three ways:

Annual feature update

Microsoft Store Update

Cumulative updates delivered through the service stack

Microsoft launched Windows 11:00 last year, promising to update its features once a year. In the latest press release, Microsoft confirmed that there will be a "Moments" update, which is a feature update in addition to the annual update.

New features such as File Explorer tab and taskbar overflow will be launched on November 8, and the preview will be launched in late October:

File Explorer upgrades, including the long-awaited "tabs" feature, allow you to top (pin) important files for quick and easy access, as well as personalized suggestions based on OneDrive features and Microsoft accounts.

Photo app. A new photo management feature will be introduced, bringing a gorgeous photo album interface that simplifies browsing, finding, managing and collecting, and you can quickly back up photos with OneDrive and provide a "recall" function.

Copy the suggestion. CTOnews.com has previously reported on the Dev version of the feature update, when you copy the phone number, date and will provide you with operational advice, such as using Teams or Skype to make calls, add new events to the calendar, and so on.

Taskbar overflow. Microsoft will add an overflow entry to the taskbar to make it easy for you to quickly view all overflowed programs.

Share more devices. You can quickly discover and share more devices, including nearby sharing.

Microsoft said that the support time for each annual feature update of Windows 11 is the same, 24 months for the consumer version and 36 months for the enterprise version. Moment updates are included in the annual update support life cycle.

CTOnews.com learned that John Cable, Microsoft's vice president of Windows services and delivery, and Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing, said in a question and answer today that they were not yet aware of Windows 12's plans. Earlier, it was revealed that Microsoft planned to release a large version of Windows every 3 years.

Woodman said that the current focus is to continue to provide annual feature updates for Windows 11.
