When enabled, iPhone produces a slight vibration with each keystroke while typing, providing physical confirmation that the keystroke is pressed and improving the typing feel. The feature is relatively easy to use, but Apple says it may affect battery life.

Apple did not provide additional details, so it is not clear how much power the feature will consume. It is worth mentioning that low-power mode does not disable keyboard touch, so the only option for users worried about the impact of battery life is to turn it off.

Any software feature on the iPhone will obviously increase power consumption, but Apple's specific mention of this keyboard touch may mean that it may have a greater impact on battery life.

CTOnews.com learned that to enable keyboard touch, open the Settings App, go to Sound and Touch > Keyboard feedback, and turn on touch. This function is suitable for iPhone 8 and newer models running iOS 16 or later, using the Taptic Engine linear motor inside iPhone.
