Peloton, an Internet fitness platform, announced the launch of a rowing machine on Tuesday. At present, the company is restructuring its business to expand its customer base and restore profitability.

Peloton announced the launch of Peloton Row with a starting price of $3195 (about 22365 yuan). The rowing machine can now be ordered through its website and shipments are expected to begin in December.

Users who buy the rowing machine also have to pay a membership fee of $44 a month to attend Peloton fitness courses and programs. Peloton has already launched fitness products such as sports bikes, including Bike, Bike+, Tread and Guide. According to media reports, Peloton Row has been preparing for some time.

Peloton reported last month that sales fell and losses widened in the fourth quarter, and it was the company's sixth consecutive quarterly loss. Peloton has said its goal is to break even quarterly cash flow by the second half of fiscal 2023.

The company also announced a partnership with Amazon to sell products on the Amazon platform. The move could help Peloton expand its user base. This is also Peloton's first attempt to expand its business beyond direct access to user business.

Peloton is also undergoing a management reshuffle. A week ago, the company announced that John Foley, co-founder and former chief executive, Hisao Kushi, co-founder and chief legal officer, and Kevin Cornils, chief business officer, would leave the company as part of its transformation. Mr Foley had been chief executive of Peloton for about a decade before stepping down in February.
