According to Qiao Yueshan, from 2012 to 2021, the added value of China's electronic information manufacturing industry grew at an average annual rate of 11.6 percent, and its operating income increased from 7 trillion yuan to 14.1 trillion yuan. The proportion of operating income in the industry has remained the first for nine years in a row; the total profit reached 828.3 billion yuan. The business income of software and information technology services increased from 2.5 trillion yuan to 9.5 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 16 percent, ranking among all industries in the national economy. The total profit in 2021 reached 1.2 trillion yuan, double that of 2015.

Over the past decade, the industrial structure of the new generation of information technology in China has been continuously optimized. In 2021, the business income of software and information technology services in 14 famous Chinese software cities accounted for 78.4% of the national software industry, and the effect of industrial agglomeration was prominent. The supply capacity of smart terminal products such as mobile phones, color TVs, computers and wearable devices has increased steadily, and the trend of domestic demand upgrading is obvious. For example, the popularity of 4K televisions has accelerated, and shipments of 4K televisions in China accounted for 72% of shipments in 2021. Many of the world's highest-generation LCD panel production lines have been put into production, and the fully flexible AMOLED panel production line has been shipped in batches. 8K ultra-high definition, narrow frame, comprehensive screen, folding screen, transparent screen and other innovative products have been launched globally.

According to Xu Wenli, in recent years, we have strongly supported the research, development and industrialization of chips / modules such as Beidou short message, high precision and low power consumption, constantly improving the process, improving performance, and reducing costs. The service infrastructure has been gradually improved. We will improve the capacity building of the Beidou network-assisted public service platform and support lane-level applications. In the first half of 2022, the platform had an average of 40.3 million active users per day and 320 million business trips per day. The application scale of Beidou is expanding continuously. The number of domestic Beidou high-precision shared bicycles exceeded 5 million, and the front of the truck was loaded with more than one million Beidou. In the first half of 2022, 128 new mobile phones supported Beidou, with a total shipment of 132 million units, accounting for 98.5% of the total.

Xu Wenli also said that China's consumer electronics production and marketing scale ranks first in the world, and it is an important global manufacturing base for consumer electronic products, and most of the world's major electronic production and contract manufacturing enterprises have set up manufacturing bases and R & D centers in China. About 80 per cent of the world's personal computers and more than 65 per cent of smartphones and color TVs are produced in China, creating about 4 million direct jobs and employing more than 10 million people in related industries.

In addition, over the past decade, many "world first" consumer electronic products have been launched one after another, including the world's first consumer folding flexible screen phone, the world's first folding screen TV, the world's first curly screen 8K laser TV, the world's first 4K 240Hz curved surface e-sports display, the world's first 5G notebook computer, etc., highlighting the level of China's innovation ability. China's consumer electronics industry has forged many well-known global brands. Among the top five global mobile phone, color TV and computer shipments in 2021, there are 3 mobile phone brands, 3 color TV brands and 1 computer brand in mainland China.
