CTOnews.com, September 20 (Xinhua)-- shipments of desktops, notebooks and workstations in the United States fell 23% year-on-year to 19.8 million units in the second quarter of 2022, according to the latest Canalys research.

Shipments of US notebooks fell 27 per cent in the second quarter, officials said. Desktop shipments continued to perform well, increasing by 10% and returning to pre-epidemic levels. Meanwhile, tablet shipments fell relatively modestly, falling 4 per cent to 10.9 million units.

Canalys commented that although the market faces recession and high inflation, the commercial market is still resilient, with shipments growing by 11% in the second quarter and avoiding a further decline in the market as a whole.

Last month, data from market research firm Canalys showed that Chinese mainland shipped 11.485 million PCs (including desktops, laptops and workstations) in the second quarter of 2022, down 16% from a year earlier, CTOnews.com reported. Desktops (including desktop workstations) and laptops (including mobile workstations) fell by 26% and 10%, respectively.
