In 2021, the output of polysilicon, silicon wafer, battery and module, the main link of China's photovoltaic industry chain, reached 506000 tons, 226.6GW, 197.9GW and 181.8GW, respectively, accounting for more than 70% of the global output. Photovoltaic newly installed 54.88GW, ranking first in the world for nine consecutive years. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen the guarantee of public services, continuously optimize the environment for industrial development, support the construction of industry associations, strengthen industry-finance cooperation, and support the development of the photovoltaic industry. Speed up the revision and improvement of the photovoltaic standard system and promote the recycling of photovoltaic modules.

CTOnews.com learned that on August 25, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "guidance on promoting the Development of the Energy Electronics Industry (draft for soliciting opinions)", which listed "the development of advanced and efficient photovoltaic products and technologies" as one of the key points, which required to speed up the construction of photovoltaic supply chain traceability system and promote photovoltaic module recycling technology research and development and industrial application. Just the day before yesterday, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Office of the General Administration of Market Supervision, and the General Department of the National Energy Administration issued a notice on promoting the coordinated development of the supply chain of the photovoltaic industry chain. It is required to "strengthen the life cycle management and carbon footprint accounting of the photovoltaic industry chain, and speed up the research on the recycling technology, standards and industrialization of waste components".

According to Pei Huichuan, a senior engineer at the China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other competent departments, the institute has systematically completed the research on the technical standard system for the recovery and reuse of photovoltaic modules. It is proposed to include it in the new version of the Comprehensive Standardization Technology system of Solar Photovoltaic Industry. In addition, standards such as the Technical Specification for waste Photovoltaic Module Recycling Enterprises and the Management Code for safe removal and classified disposal of Photovoltaic Power stations are in the process of being developed.
