CTOnews.com learned that the Beidou satellite system is the third mature global satellite navigation system independently developed by China after GPS of the United States and GLONASS of Russia. On July 31, 2020, the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was officially launched. The global positioning accuracy of Beidou 3 is better than 10 meters, the speed measurement accuracy is better than 0.2 meters per second, the timing accuracy is better than 20 nanoseconds, and the service availability is better than 99 percent. At present, the Beidou global satellite navigation system has been fully completed and opened, entering a new era of global service. Beidou system has been widely used in transportation, public safety, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing, hydrological monitoring, meteorological forecast, communication time series, power dispatching, disaster prevention and reduction and other fields.

Yang Changfeng, chief designer of China Beidou Satellite Navigation system Project, said that at present, the equipment rate of Beidou in key operating vehicles, business ships, auxiliary navigation facilities and systems has reached 100%, helping to reduce the incidence of major traffic accidents by 93%. Intelligent agricultural machinery such as unmanned agricultural machinery and plant protection drones based on Beidou entered the production line to reduce costs and increase efficiency. At the same time, through smart phones, car terminals, wearable devices and other application products, Beidou is fully serving all aspects of people's life, food, clothing, housing and transportation.

Huawei recently released the Mate50 series to support Beidou short message function. In addition, the world's first "Beidou Quantum Mobile phone" was released in Guangxi on September 17, supporting 4G / 5G / Beidou short message adaptive quantum encrypted communications.
