CTOnews.com, September 20 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft is making it easier for Xbox Series X to play games. Eden Marie, head of Xbox engineering, confirmed that Xbox One CD-ROM games will no longer be mandatory for network checks starting with the 2206 update released earlier this month.

Marie said it checked the data since the release of Xbox Series X | S and determined that online compatibility checks were not required in most cases of Xbox One discs. Some games may still need to be updated online after installation to ensure the best experience.

CTOnews.com learned that players will be able to play offline directly from Xbox One or intergenerational game CDs and install the Xbox One version of the game. Of course, if players want to download updates or enhancements to Xbox Series X | S, they still need a network update.
