Subsequently, media quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Tesla had suspended plans to produce batteries in Germany (that is, the factory expansion project) and considered moving the battery manufacturing production line back to the United States. to qualify for a tax credit for American electric cars and battery manufacturing.

Today, Cristiani refutes this claim. Cristiani confirmed to the media that Tesla has made it clear that the plant expansion project has not changed and is still under construction.

Cristiani also said that the vote on the expansion project was not on the agenda because Tesla applied for an extension in May. At present, the relevant community representatives are discussing the matter. Once these discussions are completed, the plan will be put on the agenda.

In May this year, Tesla applied to the city government of Glenn Hyde to expand the area of its German super factory by 1/3, that is, to build another 100 hectares east of the plant to produce batteries.

Tesla announced plans to build a new factory in Brandenburg, Germany, as early as November 2019 to meet the rapidly growing demand for electric cars in Europe. Later, Musk said that the German factory plans to add a battery production facility. The facility will initially have an installed capacity of more than 100 gigawatts per year and will eventually reach 250 gigawatt hours.
