CTOnews.com, September 19 (Xinhua)-- China's first Mars exploration team won the 2022 World Aerospace Award at the 73rd International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris, France, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, which was previously awarded by representatives of the Chang'e 4 mission team. The Tianmen-1 mission achieved the first Mars orbit, landing and patrol exploration in China, and it was the first time in human history that these three major goals were achieved in just one mission.

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation said that the Tianmen-1 probe (including the "Zhu Rong" rover, entry module, orbiter, etc.) and its long March 5 carrier rocket for launch were developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. other subsystems of the project are also attended by relevant units belonging to the Aerospace Science and Technology Group.

CTOnews.com learned that on July 23 this year, on the second anniversary of the launch of the Tianwen-1 mission, the orbiter sent back Phobos images. The Tianwen-1 operation team recently seized the opportunity that the orbiter was close to Phobos and used a high-resolution camera to image Phobos and obtained a clear image of the "full moon" state.

In June 2020, the Chang'e-4 mission team represented Wu Weiren, chief designer of the Chinese lunar exploration project and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Yu Dengyun, deputy chief designer of the Chinese lunar exploration project and deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation; Sun Zezhou, chief designer of the Chang'e-4 mission probe system and researcher of the Chinese Academy of Space Technology. Won the "World Space Award", the highest award of the International Astronautical Federation in 2020. This is the first time in the 70 years since the establishment of the international organization that the award has been awarded to Chinese space scientists.
