Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com latest Strategy Analytics report indicates that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the Internet of Things will reach 14% between 2022 and 2030. During the forecast period, compound annual growth rates (CAGR) for North America and Asia Pacific are expected to reach 16 percent and 14 percent, respectively.

Strategy Analytics says the technology mix will change between 2022 and 2030, with 5G strongly displacing 4G connections, from 71% of connections in 2022 to just 49% in 2030.

CTOnews.com understands that the report talks about the future of IoT cellular connectivity, saying 4G will continue to dominate overall, especially in China, but also in some other places. As most connections migrate to 4G, 3G will gradually retire. 5G is expected to account for 47% by 2030, while 4G will remain the dominant technology at 49%.

5G adoption may occur at different stages, with eMBB gaining mass adoption first, followed by uRLLC, and mMTC showing a long tail effect.
