CTOnews.com September 18 news, according to Electrek reported that Tesla has a little-known investor behind it, it has invested more money in Tesla than the company CEO Elon Musk. He is Liao Kaiyuan, Tesla's third-largest individual shareholder after Musk and Larry Ellison.

Leo KoGuan (born February 15, 1955) is an Indonesian Chinese-American businessman who, together with his ex-wife Thai Lee, ran SHI International, a software service company, and served as a non-executive director. He later entered the real estate industry and held two super five-star hotels in Shanghai Xintiandi. He is now Tesla's third largest natural person shareholder.

Liao Kai studied at the School of International and Public Affairs of Colombia University and received a master's degree in international relations. He then attended New York Law School, where he earned a doctorate in law.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, Liao Kaiyuan has donated more than RMB 600 million to the teaching buildings of many famous law schools in China and founded scholarships. By 2015, he has also served as honorary council members and part-time or honorary teaching posts of these universities.

According to foreign media reports last year, he already owned 6.2 million Tesla shares at least a year ago and 18.6 million shares after splitting last month. He said at the time that he would continue to buy Tesla shares and planned to invest billions more, currently disclosing a stake of about 22.6 million shares.

One interesting point is that although he owns less stock than Musk, he must have invested much more money than Musk invested in Tesla, after all, Musk stock does not have to buy himself.

He admitted the other day that he invested more in Tesla stock than Musk and Ellison combined, and last week he bought about 104200 shares of Tesla stock, although he may have lost about $1 billion on his previous 4 million shares.

It is worth mentioning that it is difficult to confirm how much Musk has invested in Tesla, because he was Tesla's first outside investor before the IPO, investing at least $6.5 million in the first round of A financing, then participating in each round, investing about $70 million in Tesla at least before Tesla went public, and he currently holds nearly $200 billion in the company.

As for Larry Ellison, Oracle's billionaire founder, he revealed when he became a Tesla board member that he had an investment worth about $1 billion. That said, he acquired the position and position with an investment of less than $1 billion that year, and it's hard to say how much allison owns.
