This is the first time that China has put two manned submersibles into joint operation, completing underwater real-time positioning, voice communication, target search and recovery, rapid maneuver and cooperative operation.
The Institute of Deep Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said the joint operation proved that two manned submersibles, supported by two research support mother ships, could carry out simultaneous diving operations and coordinated operations in the same operation area.
CTOnews.com learned that in June 2020, China's 10,000-meter manned submersible was officially named "Striver." On November 10 of the same year, the Striver successfully sat at the bottom of the Mariana Trench at a depth of 10909 meters.
