CTOnews.com learned that the construction of the Huhang section of the Hezhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway started at the end of 2019, and the roadbed, bridge, main line track laying, "four electricity" and station building projects have been completed. Static acceptance began in March 2022, joint survey and test began on April 28, transferred to the trial operation phase on July 6, and successfully passed the preliminary acceptance on September 5.

According to reports, the Huhang section of the Hezhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway is an important traffic guarantee project for the Hangzhou Asian Games, which is drawn from the existing Huzhou station, through the South Taihu Lake New area, Wuxing District, Deqing County, Yuhang District, Xihu District, Fuyang District and Tonglu County of Hangzhou City. After crossing the Fuchun River, it is introduced into Tonglu Station of Hangzhou-Yellow High-speed Railway. The new line is about 137.8 kilometers long and the design speed is 350km per hour. Huzhou, Deqing, Hangzhou West, Fuyang West, Tonglu East, Tonglu 6 stations are set up along the line, of which Hangzhou West, Fuyang West and Tonglu East are new stations.

The Huhang section of the Hezhou-Hangzhou high-speed railway is an important node project to build the "Yangtze River Delta on the track". After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will further improve the one-hour traffic circle in Zhejiang Province and optimize the layout of passenger stations and river-crossing channels in Hangzhou Railway Hub.
