CTOnews.com, September 18 (Xinhua) Tata is one of the first Indian automakers to launch electric vehicles (EV). With the success of Tigor EV and Nexon EV, the company is preparing to launch its third commercial mass market electric vehicle, the Tata Tiago EV, in India.

The release date of Tata Tiago EV in India has been announced and will be released on September 28. The Tata Tiago EV is expected to be one of the cheapest electric cars in India.

Tata has not yet released the specifications of the Tata Tiago EV. However, according to foreign media 91mobils, the model uses the same platform and powertrain as the Tigor EV launched in India last year, carries 75bhp horsepower and 170Nm torque powertrain, is equipped with 26kWh batteries, and claims to have a range of 306km. The 25kW DC fast charger only takes 1 hour and 5 minutes to charge the car.

Tata Tiago EV is expected to be sold cheaply in India, possibly between 500000 and 700,000 rupees (43000 to 61000 yuan).
