CTOnews.com LastPass admitted last month that its system had been hacked and that it had obtained sensitive information over a period of about four days. LastPass's CEO responded that the company worked closely with security experts from Mandiant to investigate and found that no user data had been compromised.

The CEO assures that while LastPass was hacked, no user data was compromised.

CTOnews.com has learned that attackers did obtain some LastPass password manager source code and technical information. However, it is limited to the development environment of the service and has nothing to do with user data. Not to mention LastPass itself doesn't have access to the user's master password, and the master password isn't stored on LastPass servers from the start.

Investigations revealed that the attacker used a developer terminal and impersonated the developer after successfully using multi-factor authentication.
