CTOnews.com Sept. 18, it is reported that the all-electric version of the BMW X1 iX1 will not be launched in the United States, such cross-border models will only be sold in Europe and China.

CTOnews.com has reported that BMW launched the third-generation BMW X1 in June this year, as well as the pure electric version of the X1 BMW iX1.

The BMW iX1 xDrive 30, equipped with two motors, 313 horsepower and 494Nm of torque, is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 64.7kWh. Its WLTP range is about 413,438km, starting at 55000 euros (about 385500 yuan). A cheaper FWD version is expected to be launched in 2023.

According to reports, both the BMW iX1 and the third-generation X1 are produced at BMW's Regensburg plant.

At first, many expected the iX1 to be sold in the United States, as similar models of the ICE have been sold in the United States since 2012. However, according to Car Scoops, a BMW executive said that "the only model currently planned to be launched in the US is the X1 xDrive28i".

In addition, the BMW blog recently published a report that killed all hopes of American users waiting for iX1:

"Unfortunately, BMW USA has decided not to need the iX1 because the compact crossover will only sell the internal combustion engine version here."

A follow-up report further emphasized this point:

"although we have launched the ordinary X1 in the US market, the electric version will remain on the other side of the Atlantic."
