CTOnews.com Sept. 17 news, today, the State Post Bureau announced the operation of the postal industry in August 2022. From January to August, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct business income of the Postal savings Bank) totaled 879.18 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7 percent over the same period last year, and the total business volume totaled 920.42 billion yuan, an increase of 6.7 percent over the same period last year.

In August, the business income of the whole industry reached 111.46 billion yuan, an increase of 9.3 percent over the same period last year, and the total business volume reached 118.83 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0 percent over the same period last year.

From January to August, the total volume of postal service business totaled 146.68 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2 percent over the same period last year; the volume of postal service business completed 18.97 billion pieces, an increase of 9.8 percent over the same period last year; and revenue from postal delivery services totaled 26.06 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8 percent over the same period last year.

In August, the total volume of postal service business reached 15.88 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8 percent over the same period last year; the business volume of postal delivery services completed 2.4 billion pieces, an increase of 6.5 percent over the same period last year; and revenue from postal delivery services reached 3.03 billion yuan, an increase of 1.1 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that data from the State Post Bureau show that from January to August, the business volume of express delivery enterprises across the country totaled 70.3 billion, an increase of 4.4 percent over the same period last year, and business revenue totaled 676.44 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9 percent over the same period last year. Of these, 8.41 billion pieces of business were completed in the same city, down 5.1% from the same period last year; 60.69 billion pieces of business were completed in other places, up 6.4% from the same period last year; and 1.2 billion pieces of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business were completed, down 15.1% from the same period last year.

In August, the business volume of national express service enterprises completed 9.43 billion pieces, an increase of 4.9% over the same period last year, and business revenue reached 88.39 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2% over the same period last year.

From January to August, the volume of express delivery in the same city, other places, and international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 12.0%, 86.3% and 1.7% of the total express business respectively, and the business income accounted for 6.6%, 49.2% and 10.8% of the total express business revenue, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business in the same city decreased by 1.2 percentage points, that of other places increased by 1.6 percentage points, and that of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan express services decreased by 0.4 percentage points.

From January to August, the proportion of express business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 77.0%, 15.5% and 7.5% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 77.4%, 13.4% and 9.2%, respectively.

Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business volume and revenue in the eastern region decreased by 1.5 percentage points and 1.0 percentage points respectively.

The proportion of express business volume in the central region increased by 1.3 percentage points, and the proportion of express business income increased by 0.7 percentage points.

The proportion of express business volume in the western region increased by 0.2 percentage points, and the proportion of income from express delivery business increased by 0.3 percentage points.
