So far, Xiaopeng has collected three high-level intelligent driving modules, including parking lots, urban roads and expressways, and is about to achieve full scene coverage.

Xiaopeng officially said that its strength in the field of self-driving is close to the world's leading level, and has surpassed in some subdivided scenes.

Urban NGP is an intelligent navigation-assisted driving that can complete dynamic tasks such as cruising following in this lane, navigation / overtaking and changing lanes, inward / outbound roads, traffic light identification, intersection / roundabout / tunnel traffic, and avoiding other traffic participants (pedestrians, cyclists) after the user sets the destination and initiates navigation on the available urban roads.

According to the official introduction of Xiaopeng Automobile, "safety" is the first principle in the development of urban NGP. It adopts a multi-sensing fusion scheme pioneered by the industry. Camera, millimeter wave radar, lidar and other sensing elements complement each other to form a 360 °sensing system with optimal safety redundancy. Compared with single lidar + roof layout, Xiaopeng uses dual lidar + front layout on P5 and G9. The horizontal perspective is wider and the vertical perspective is smaller, which can better deal with the problems such as mixed flow of people and vehicles, pedestrian crossing, close cut-in, special-shaped roadblocks / traffic participants in urban traffic like "close game".

Before using City NGP, users need to watch the security video and pass the exam, understand the functional boundaries and master the correct way to use it.

In addition, the first thing you have to face when using the urban NGP is the "novice mode": by fully experiencing the capabilities and limitations of the system in the right road conditions, familiar with the human-computer co-driving system, using the urban NGP to travel more than 100km and 7 days away from the first activation function, and then unlock all available roads.

NGP, whose full name is autopilot, is a product of Xiaopeng XPILOT 3.0autopilot assistant system. Relying on NGP, the vehicle can realize automatic navigation from point A to point B based on the navigation route set by the user.

CTOnews.com learned that when NGP autopilot is turned on, it can display 360 °viewing angle around the vehicle, environmental simulation, speed limit indication, construction reminder and so on.

At present, domestic car companies are developing their own driving assistance systems, such as NOP, Xiaopeng NGP, ideal NOA.

It is reported that Xiaopeng automobile city NGP will be pushed after obtaining relevant approval such as city Gaojing map, and gradually increase the number of cities covered; Xiaopeng G9, equipped with the next generation intelligent driving assistance platform, will also go on sale on September 21, with large-scale delivery in the fourth quarter; and Xiaopeng will launch two new cars based on the new platform next year.
