However, despite the size of the images, reviewers have now confirmed that the Lightning interface on the iPhone 14 Pro remains the same as previous models, with a maximum rate limited to 480Mbps's USB 2.0 speed, which means it will take a long time for photographers to transfer full-resolution 4800-megapixel ProRAW photos to Mac or other devices using the Lightning cable.

Of course, Apple recommends using iCloud to look up ProRAW files on Mac or other Apple devices, or using AirDrop wireless transmission to send photos to other devices, but Lightning is still a bottleneck anyway.

Back in 2015, Apple introduced USB 3.0 support with the Lightning interface on iPad Pro, which was able to reach the speed of 5Gbps according to the specifications at the time, but Apple did not popularize the technology for iPhone, which caused dissatisfaction among some users.

EU legislation will require all smartphones and accessories to be recharged using the USB-C interface from the fall of 2024. The Verge said the agreement had the biggest impact on Apple because it was the only large smartphone maker that still uses proprietary rather than USB-C interfaces.
