At the conference, Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that in the first half of this year, the number of domestic passenger cars with combined driving assistance functions reached 2.28 million, and the penetration rate rose to 32.4 percent, an increase of 46.2 percent over the same period last year. As a reference, previous data from IDC showed that in the first quarter of 2022, the penetration of new cars by L2 self-driving in the domestic passenger car market reached 23.2%, and the whole market was in the stage of L2 to L3 development.

At the fourth Global New Energy and Smart vehicle supply chain Innovation Conference on September 6, Miao Wei, vice chairman of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and former minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that production and sales of new energy vehicles are expected to reach 5.5 million this year, which means that the target of 25% penetration of new energy vehicles can be achieved three years ahead of schedule.

CTOnews.com learned that the level of autopilot proposed by the International Institute of Automata Engineers (SAE) is divided into six levels from L0 to L5, and the technical level is also gradually increasing. Among them, L0 autopilot is no automation (No Automation), L5 autopilot refers to fully autopilot (Full Automation).
