Apple has confirmed, however, that users who activate new iPhones may experience an issue with Wi-Fi not activating the device during initial setup, which Apple says is "under investigation."

In a memo seen by MacRumors, Apple said,"iOS 16 has a known issue that may affect device activation using open Wi-Fi networks." To fix this, Apple says users should select "Connect to Mac or PC with iTunes" when prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network when initializing iOS, then return to the previous screen and try again using Wi-Fi until activation is successful.

CTOnews.com understands that Apple pointed out in the memo that there is currently no official fix, and it has to be said that the bug is very inappropriate, because today users around the world start receiving their new iPhone 14 series.

It is worth mentioning that Apple has launched iOS 16.0.1 update for iPhone 14 series, fixing activation and migration issues during setup. If you experience problems activating iPhone 14, you may need to upgrade iOS 16.0.1 with Mac or PC to fix this error and activate the new iPhone.

In addition, in a support document, Apple warned new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users that "iMessage and FaceTime may not complete activation" and that they need to update their new iPhone to iOS 16.0.1.
