CTOnews.com, September 15, after news that Google will launch a cheaper version of Chromecast TV stick Chromecast HD with Google TV, and announced a series of configurations.

Today, SnoopyTech reported that Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is already available at several retailers at a price of $39.99 (about 278.33 yuan) and is expected to support only 1080p output, which is $10 cheaper than the previous 4K version.

Foreign media WinFuture has exposed the rendering of the device, which looks similar to the current version, except for the white version, equipped with a charging cord and charging head from USB-C to USB-A, as well as a remote control that supports Google Assistant.

CTOnews.com learned that according to previously revealed information, the device is expected to be equipped with Jingchen semiconductor Amlogic S805X2 processor, support AV1 decoding, but video output is limited to 1080p.

In addition, Chromecast HD will be equipped with Android 12-based software, making it the first Google TV 12 streaming media. You can see the interface of the new system from the following figure.

Chromecast HD is expected to be equipped with 1.5GB memory, and depending on the 2GB memory requirements of Android 13, the device may not be able to upgrade to Android 13.
