CTOnews.com, September 15 (Xinhua) according to the latest CINNO Research data, about 22.1 million smartphones were sold in the Chinese mainland market in July, down 4.8% from the previous month and 17.7% from a year earlier, the worst monthly sales in July since 2015.

The report pointed out that affected by the continued downturn in the consumer market in July, with the exception of Apple, the mainstream domestic Android brands in the domestic smartphone market showed negative growth year-on-year, with vivo and OPPO down 34.7% and 33.3% respectively, Glory and Xiaomi down 12.1% and 17.5% respectively.

In terms of sales volume compared with the previous month, OPPO smartphone sales rose 4.1% month-on-month in July, returning to the first place in China; Glory ranked second, with a slight drop of 0.4% month-on-month; Vivo sales ranked third, up 6.8%; Xiaomi and Apple ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, with sales down 21.8% and 19.6% respectively, mainly because Xiaomi and Apple benefited from the 618 price reduction promotion, which led to a higher June sales base.

CTOnews.com learned that CINNO Research said that with its brand advantage, Apple expects the iPhone 14 series to continue the momentum of the iPhone 13 series and become the only bright spot in the overall depressed mobile phone market.
