CTOnews.com learned that Smart Island also allows users to interact with real-time activities, such as ongoing phone calls, SharePlay sessions, music playback, timers, turn instructions in Apple Maps, voice memos, on-screen video and personal hotspot connections, music playback supports Apple Music and third-party applications that use Now Playing API, and Smart Island also supports third-party applications that use CallKit API, such as WhatsApp.

Smart Island, unique to iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models, is a pill-shaped area that replaces bangs on previous models. With the help of the software, Smart Island can be transformed into different shapes and sizes, and later this year, the feature will also support real-time activities (Live Activities) in third-party applications.
