Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com Sept. 15, according to news, in October 2021, Microsoft began to gradually launch Windows 11 21H2 version. Although most of the attention was focused on the client version, the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise version was also launched that day. The latter brings support for new technologies, such as Windows subsystem Linux GUI (WSLg), USB4, Wi-Fi 6e and so on.

However, Microsoft has not released a long-term service channel (LTSC) for Windows 11 IoT Enterprise. However, the latest findings from whistleblower Xeno suggest that Microsoft may release this version of the system soon.

In the ntdef.h kernel header file of Windows SDK for Windows 11 Build 25198, Xeno found a new potential Windows 11 SKU called "IOTENTERPRISESK" and hexadecimal ID as "0x000000CD".

According to Xeno, the new IOTENTERPRISEK represents the upcoming Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC version.

As you can see from the winver screenshot built below, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is indeed written in the system information, and it is based on the 22H2 version.

CTOnews.com learned that LTSC (long service channel) is a version of Windows that slows down the frequency of updates, is usually available to enterprises and has longer support, but is also used by some individual users as a "pension" version.
