CTOnews.com Sept. 15, Apple today launched a developer preview version of iOS 16.1 Beta update (internal version: 20B5045d) to iPhone users, 16 days after its last release.

The iOS 16.1 update includes a number of functional changes and Bug fixes, including updates to features already included in iOS 16, new features announced on WWDC in June, and so on. The following is a complete overview:

Clean energy charging

Apple announced earlier this week that iOS 16 will bring a new clean energy charging function. The company says the feature aims to "reduce your carbon footprint" by "selectively charging when low-carbon power is available".

You can find the switch for this setting in the Battery menu of the Settings application, and then click the Battery Health and charging option.

Apple Wallet App can remove iOS 16.1 now allows users to delete the Apple Wallet app, but deleting the app means you will not be able to use many features, including Apple Pay, Apple Cash and Apple Card. Early signs of Matter Home App

IOS 16.1 and iPadOS 16.1 also include early support for Matter smart home accessories. Matter is a new smart home standard designed to improve the cross-platform compatibility of the most popular accessory categories, but this feature is still in its early stages, and Apple has just provided a few details:

To pair Matter accessories, you must first install the configuration file on your device.

Removing Apple Home from Home's Matter Accessories Connected Services menu does not remove accessory tiles.

When pairing Matter accessories, you may receive a reminder to open Wi-Fi.

Adjusting the color or color temperature may cause unexpected color settings on the Matter fitting.

If the Matter fitting is not accessible, the fitting details may not open.

If the fitting is already paired with a third-party ecosystem, you may not be able to pair the Matter fitting.

The device that initiates pairing needs to use the same iCloud account as the home hub. Only the owner (not the invited user) can pair Matter accessories.

The button to add more windows is now installed, and you can open it with the "curtain" animation and display the App toggle interface.

It is easier than ever to view all open windows of the same application. You can click the application's docking icon or use Globe-Down directly. The area always contains a + button to create a new window.
